Meet the team

Mark grew up on a farm outside Dundee and graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2013. After five years working in small animal hospitals, he spent six years in mixed practice before returning to his passion for small animal care.

He has a particular interest in soft tissue surgery and ophthalmology and is looking forward to getting to know clients and their pets in Wishaw.

Outside of work, Mark is kept busy with his horses, five dogs, and young son. He regularly competes with his horses alongside his wife and helps run their growing stud farm.

Marta graduated in Spain in 2015 and moved to the UK in 2018. She has worked with a wide range of animals, from farm livestock to companion animals, though cats hold a special place in her heart.

She has a strong interest in cardiology and is currently working towards a certificate in this field.

Outside of work, Marta enjoys hiking with her dogs, relaxing with her cats, and reading fantasy books or playing video games.

Sharon is the Clinical Lead and owner of Wishing Well Vets, bringing a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

She leads the team with a focus on clinical excellence and creating a welcoming, supportive environment for both clients and their pets. As practice owner, Sharon plays a key role in shaping the vision of Wishing Well Vets and ensuring the highest standards are maintained across all areas of the clinic.

Jessica graduated in 2019 and has worked across a range of practices including companion animal, mixed, and referral settings. She enjoys all aspects of nursing, with particular interests in behaviour and critical care.

She recently rescued an 8-year-old cat called Jiji, who keeps her busy at home.

Clare has been part of the clinic since 1999 and is a highly valued member of the team. She loves interacting with clients and their pets, especially welcoming new puppies through the door.

Known for her organisation and knowledge of the practice, Clare plays a key role in keeping everything running smoothly.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her Cockapoo, Xander, and relaxing at home.

Fiona has been part of the Wishing Well Vets team since June 2019 and is often one of the first friendly faces you’ll see when you visit the practice. She enjoys welcoming clients and their pets, helping to create a warm, professional, and reassuring environment for everyone who comes through the door.

She loves meeting all the pets that visit the practice and takes pride in making each visit feel as smooth and comfortable as possible.

Outside of work, Fiona enjoys relaxing at home with her cat, Millie, as well as going to the theatre, gaming, and enjoying live music.

Nicola joined the Wishing Well Vets team in March 2024 and brings three years of experience in animal care. She began her career working in boarding kennels before moving into the veterinary industry, where she has enjoyed supporting the clinical team.

She plays an important role in helping the vets and nurses deliver the highest standard of care and finds it especially rewarding being part of each pet’s journey through the practice — with puppy cuddles a definite bonus.

Outside of work, Nicola enjoys camping and swimming.

Jackie has been part of the Wishing Well Vets team since August 2014 and enjoys welcoming clients and their pets into the practice. She loves interacting with everyone who comes through the door — especially the dogs, who are always happy to receive a treat from her well-stocked box of gravy bones.

She plays an important role in creating a friendly and relaxed atmosphere at reception, helping both pets and their owners feel at ease from the moment they arrive.

Outside of work, Jackie spends her time with her dogs, cats, and a small flock of ducks and chickens. She also enjoys long walks with her dogs and going to live music events.

Emma joined Wishing Well Vets in August 2021 and has been working as a veterinary care assistant since 2013. She enjoys caring for the pets in the practice and takes pride in helping them feel calm, comfortable, and stress-free during their visits.

She has a particular soft spot for cats and loves spending time with all the patients who come through the door.

Outside of work, Emma is kept busy with her young daughter, enjoying lots of outdoor adventures. She also has two cats, Bella and Blossom.
